Education
I graduated in May 2006 from Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. In January 2007, I took the initiative to start my masters program in Curriculum and Instruction at Capella University.
Along with my masters program, I am also receiving graduate credit and training in Instructional Technology through the eMINTS program.
Through the Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) I also engage in educational workshops and conferences that will be used as a tool to help each student succeed in fifth grade.

Family
I have been married to my husband Rod for over 10 years. We have three curious and energetic children.
Our daughter, AJ is 12 years old and in the seventh grade and enjoys browsing the web and hanging out with her friends.
Taylor, who is 8 years old, enjoys playing hockey, video games, and reading Goosebumps Books. Now that he is in third grade he is excited because he wants to learn how to write in cursive and multiply.
Julian is our youngest, and he is 7 years old and in the second grade. He enjoys creating art of all kinds and decorates our classroom frequently. |

Hobbies
I have many hobbies in and out of the class. In the class, my students have already figured out that my hobby is to challenge them daily (note to students: stop rolling your eyes). I also am a very creative person so I enjoy creating project-based learning activities where students can engage in hands-on, active learning. Another hobby of mine related to school, or maybe I should say passion, is to develop and create curriculum for my fifth grade class.
At home, my hobbies are cooking, reading, and spending time with the family. On Friday nights we spend the time doing a family movie night complete with popcorn. We enjoy hiking, camping, miniature golf, bowling, skating, playing outside and a game of Munchkin or Battleship from time to time.
